Introducing Sean Born : The BTS Pause Mix

Rosenberg Radio - Tue, 01/31/2012 - 13:06

http://mellomusicgroup.bandcamp.com/album/909-jack-bts-pause-mix

Finally the time has come. Sean Born’s “Behind the Scale” album drops in two weeks. I can honestly say that BTS is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years. It features production from Kev Brown, Oddisee, Quartermaine, and more. Sean has a twang and style that I have never heard before and this album is a true album for anyone who has ever smoked, dealt, or had anything to do with that greenery. I could not cosign this record any harder. But before BTS drops, we have this ode to the pause mix. It is a collection of Sean features, verses, and new freestyles. It is hosted by me and mixed by DJ Marshall Law. Enjoy!

Why Do Rappers Promote Drinking & Driving??

Rosenberg Radio - Wed, 01/18/2012 - 14:40

This is what I did on the show. Beyond that I have much stronger feelings on the subject. I understand talking about smoking and drinking to try to sound cool, but HOW could an adult EVER talk about drinking and driving? How the hell is that cool? One rapper mentioning how they drink and drive does 10 times more damage than all the positive attempts by people to speak to the evils of drinking and driving.

Many issues in hip hop bother me, but after having my family’s world shattered by the death of my brother in law — this issue hits home with me.

An Evening with President Obama and Al Green

Rosenberg Radio - Fri, 01/06/2012 - 16:56

Wow! Just bought my tickets for this. I am going to see the President and Al Green at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem. I recommend you do the same. The President needs our support right now if we are to keep him in the White House and shut down these crazies who want his spot.

Also featuring appearances by the brilliant Lin-Manuel Miranda and India Arie!

Tickets here! http://my.barackobama.com

Thank You Patrice…RIP

Rosenberg Radio - Tue, 11/29/2011 - 21:30

Today we got the news that we had been dreading. Patrice Oneal passed away. He was just 41 years old and his real glory days in entertainment were still ahead of him in my opinion. He had done the show a few times and of course did an incredible Juan Epstein just a few weeks back. Can’t tell you how sad this makes Ciph, Foxx, and I.

Patrice was truly one of the most insightful and smartest comics I have ever known. More than anything I admire his commitment to who he was. Patrice passed up more money and fame to be true to who he was as a comedian. He would not compromise his artistic integrity and as a result, the respect for him among his peers is unmatched. So ultimately even though we lost him way too soon– he left us knowing how much his peers and true fans loved him and that’s pretty cool. RIP brother.
